8 Days!

I called Rhonda (Dr. Wright's Surgery Coordinator) to confirm my pre-op appointment and to see officially what my weight was (back in February) to track my progress, I want to be armed with all the information and show how well I've done vacation and all!!!!

I am in such a good mood today, I've been busting tail this morning cleaning the house, mopping floors and doing dishes ~ my Mom is flying out here on the 5th and we have tickets to the Olympic Swim Trials here in Omaha that night ~ Michael Phelps and Katie Hoff broke the world records last night http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/chi-katie-hoff-michael-phelps-080630-ht,0,2527304.story

It's On Now!!!!!

Wow, 9 days, NINE DAYS!!!!!! I can't believe it! My final pre-op appointment is this Thursday with Dr. Wright ~ it's about 2 hours long and we will be going over the final details of the surgery and recovery period.

Vacation was GREAT !!! I made a few slight slip-ups but with our activity level I only gained 1 pound and today we plan on making it a day at the zoo so with all the walking I hope to shed that extra pound or more.

We spent 5 hours at a waterpark yesterday and all of us are windburnt ~ the winds were gusting all day over 40 mph, yikes! Della is a natural swimmer, she is not afraid of the water when she has her PDF on and can swim anywhere she likes, she loves her independence!

My Mom is flying in on Saturday to help out with the surgery ~ I can't wait to see her again! She is going to take Colin and Della back with her to St. Louis so they can spend time with them there and I can recover without 3 children to care for ~ Lynde will be here to help me with Edward since I won't be able to lift him for 3 weeks.

Today the sky is full of it's sun-shiny-goodness and I can't wait to get outside in it!!!!!!!!!!!!

Vacation!

We are leaving tomorrow afternoon for vacation to Minden, NE to Harold Warp's Pioneer Village http://www.pioneervillage.org/

I've been there a few times with my family growing up, it's going to be such a joy to take our children there to experience it for themselves.

I can't wait!

Whew!

I have been worried as of late because Dr. Madison (the Doctor who did the Psych Eval for the surgery) had not turned it in. I had to make numerous phone calls this week and started to think that perhaps I didn't pass the evaluation :(

I was a nervous wreck last night thinking the worst but Rhonda called and everything is set to go. What a relief, and a special thanks to Judy (my surgery Angel) for calming me down when I was sure the worst was coming when I had nothing to worry about all along, LOL! ;)

2 Weeks Away...

Wow, I'm getting very close now. I am still waiting on the Psych Eval to be sent to my surgeon ~ not sure what is taking so long..I need to call and check on it today.

Next week is my last pre-op surgical appointment, I can't wait to show them the progress I've made.

I daydream about how life is going to change for me after surgery, it seems weird to think that I will feel full on such a small portion since portion control has always been my problem. I'm so glad that I have incorporated better eating habits before surgery, i've found some GREAT foods along the way, not to mention EggFace's blog http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/ which I love!

I have a surgery angel, Judy R. who I met on the Yahoo WLS Support Forum and she has been such a blessing to me. I am relieved to have her to update others and also give support to me and my family.

Swimming...

Ahhhh, the joy of swimming...who doesn't love it? We are taking the kids (all 4) to the base pool this afternoon for a few hours ~ Sunday is usually our family swim day, they love having Daddy with them to show off, LOL!

Hubby is leaving tonight for another TDY but he will return Wednesday afternoon so it won't be too bad, he is taking Lynde with him so she can be a pool goddess and get away from the babies for a few days.

I love going swimming, it's very weight friendly and I can't wait for the results ~ the only drawback to Hubby leaving for a few days is I won't be able to go to the gym in the evenings, boo!!!!!

Oh well, at least we can get some sun and fun!

Loving Life...

What a busy summer we are having! Yesterday was Colin's birthday and I let it be my *cheat* day (the first in 3 weeks) and I am regreting it BIG TIME! It just affirms that what I am doing is right for me ~ I was sick last night from the junk I ate, my body has detoxed itself and I WANT to keep it that way!
